Two milestones for SCP radiologists
SCP Radiology celebrated two radiologists’ milestones this week that will further add to the practice’s subspecialist reporting pool.
New qualification
Dr Henno Schoombee, a partner radiologist in SCP, successfully completed his European Diploma of Musculoskeletal Radiology.
The EDiMSK qualification not only endorses the specialist skills of MSK-trained radiologists across multiple modalities but certifies the skill to perform musculoskeletal system-related interventional procedures as well.
We’re therefore pleased to welcome Dr Schoombee to our team of MSK subspecialists.
Dr Schoombee obtained his MBChB undergraduate qualification at the University of Pretoria in 2001 and completed his internship at Groote Schuur Hospital and community service at Wesfleur Hospital in Atlantis.
From 2005 to 2014 he worked as a clinical specialist in Emergency Medicine in Essex, UK.
He then returned to Groote Schuur, where he completed his radiology training through the University of Cape Town in 2019 before joining SCP.

Completed Fellowship
Dr Alwyn le Roux has rejoined the practice this week after having completed a Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging in Canada. Dr Le Roux previously worked as one of our assistant radiologists before leaving in 2022 to spend his fellowship year at the University of Calgary.
He started his medical career by obtaining his MBChB from the University of the Free State in 2009. He then spent some time practising in diabetes care and obtaining his Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes from the University of Cardiff.
He enrolled for radiology specialisation in 2017, completed his training at Tygerberg Hospital and subsequently obtained his radiology qualification from the University of Stellenbosch.
He now joins SCP’s team of body imaging subspecialists.
Congratulations to both doctors on their career milestones. We’re honoured to have them on board.
