Quick facts about SCP

SCP Radiology was established in the 1950s by radiology pioneers Drs CJB Muller, DD Keet and JA Beyers.

We have close to 30 radiologists and over 250 employees, including nurses, administrative staff and 120 radiographers.

SCP Radiology has 18 branches in the Western Cape, covering Cape Town’s CBD and Northern Suburbs, the West Coast, Breede River Valley and Cape Winelands regions.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, SCP Radiology introduced a contactless facility for outpatients in Brackenfell.

In 2022, we launched the specialised SCP Radiology Tygervalley Mammography Centre in Bellville.

Student bursaries at SCP

SCP Radiology offers a multitude of fulfilling careers for professionals in the medical industry.

SCP Radiology is privileged to play a part in the education of South Africa’s next generation of radiographers and sonographers.

We offer annual bursaries to first- to fourth-year students who study BSc Diagnostic Radiography and BSc Diagnostic Ultrasound at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and have 20 years’ experience in student training in our HPCSA-accredited diagnostic ultrasound and radiography units.

Young professionals who successfully apply for our bursary programme, are not only supported financially during their years of study. They also have the opportunity to complete their clinical training and start their journey into their successful careers – as part of a team that’s dedicated to excellence and care.

SCP Radiology offers the following bursaries to upcoming radiographers and sonographers each year:

Eligibility criteria, application and process:

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying.

  • Acceptance or provisional acceptance from Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) to study in the next academic year.
  • Must be a South African citizen or permanent resident.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Must be available for an interview from September onwards.
  • Must reside in Cape Town or surrounds and be able to travel between SCP branches.
  • Must adhere to all SCP practice policies and protocols.

A clinical environment for students to undertake practical work.
