SCP Radiology has just opened a dedicated outpatient imaging centre in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town. SCP Radiology Willowbridge offers the practice’s first-ever MRI service outside of a hospital setting.

The centre has been developed as a welcoming and conveniently located space where referred patients can access MRI, fluoroscopy and general X-rays without needing to visit a hospital. Situated in the well-known FNB Building near the Willowbridge and Tygervalley shopping centres, this is similar to the Tygervalley Mammography Centre that SCP had opened in 2022.

“With the opening of the mammography centre, we witnessed the impact of offering patients a more tranquil space,” says Branch Manager Dr Dirk van der Merwe. “We are confident that this branch will offer an equally warm and welcoming space, and be of great service to medical specialists and patients in the area.”

The branch is also equipped with a Philips BlueSeal helium-free MRI machine, currently considered to be among the world’s most advanced MRI technologies.

The Willowbridge team will deliver their medical imaging services as part of the larger SCP Radiology group, a well-established practice with 33 radiologists and 20 locations across the Western Cape.

Referred patients can contact the central bookings team for MRI appointments, and the branch directly for fluoroscopy bookings. General X-rays can be done without prior appointments.
