As a trusted provider of medical imaging in the Western Cape, SCP Radiology now offers Computed Tomography (CT) services at its Willowbridge branch in Bellville. It is SCP’s first unit where referred patients can access CT scans without needing to visit an in-hospital branch.

As a dedicated outpatient imaging centre, SCP Radiology Willowbridge was officially launched in August 2024. It is similar in concept to SCP’s Tygervalley Mammography Centre, established as a dedicated women’s imaging centre in 2022.

Not unlike the tranquillity that patients encounter when going for their mammograms at the Tygervalley branch, the Willowbridge branch offers a warm and welcoming space for patients in need of specialised radiology services.

It now offers a more comprehensive range of diagnostic imaging services. These include MRI scans, CT scans, fluoroscopy, and general X-rays. Radiologist and branch Manager Dr Dirk van der Merwe is confident that it will be of great service to medical specialists and patients in the area.

The branch is also equipped with a Philips BlueSeal helium-free MRI machine, currently considered to be among the world’s most advanced MRI technologies.

The imaging centre is located on the Ground Floor of the well-known FNB Building (Willowbridge Place). It is located on the corner of Carl Cronje Road and Old Oak Drive.

Referrals are required for all radiology procedures at the branch. Referred patients can contact the central bookings team for MRI appointments, and the branch directly for CT and fluoroscopy bookings. General X-rays can be done without prior appointments.

The Tygervalley Mammography Centre was SCP Radiology’s first dedicated outpatient centre in Bellville. It is focused on women’s imaging which includes mammograms, breast ultrasound exams, and bone densitometry.

It was launched in August 2022 and is widely known as a tranquil space for women to have their annual breast cancer screening done.
